Was it a childhood dream of yours to become a DevOps engineer? No? Mine wasn’t either.. All kids yearn to become an astronaut, a superhero, or a treasure hunter. But as we grow up, some tougher choices must be made rather than whether to put our little fingers in that nice looking wall socket. In the next few lines, I will share how I decided to pursue a career in the DevOps field and how my positive experience at ITIDO enables my professional growth.
The digital world has never been incomprehensible to me, which must have predisposed me to my professional career path, starting back in school. That being said, I had a huge kick-starter for my career. Through education and work, I delved into the depths of Linux systems and networking, doing interesting tasks, but DevOps kept whispering to me to join its side. This voice took me to ITIDO. Even during the application process, I was dazzled by the friendly spirit of my current colleagues.
From day one I was drawn into one of the team building activities. There are many of them here and they are organized constantly. We have monthly knowledge-sharing sessions which aim not only at technical enrichment but also contribute to our social and working lives. And we drink beer and fill the plates with pizza! Apart from company formalities, we have a motto – “Sharing is caring”. It’s not just a quote on the office wall, but a team mindset and an invariable part of everyday life at ITIDO.
In my work I am constantly faced with new, different, and cool projects using various tools and solutions. I am involved in a project for the largest client of ITIDO, which allows me to communicate and exchange experiences with many other people across the world. Remember the treasure hunter from the first paragraph? Em, I’m not going in search of the pots of gold, but I’m discovering the green Kubernetes pods. The variety of cloud(y) and land (on-premises) environments I work with is a great opportunity to keep up with the technology trends and, at the same time, reward the practices already mastered.
Our team is in everyday team-bonding, chasing to build trust and ease of communication. Collaboration is highly valued in ITIDO and is the key to climbing the heights in the professional path. Here, we all strive to demonstrate strong results and competence in the performance of tasks. Everyone’s positivism and dedication push us daily towards success and mutual support.
We do believe in work and fun, at ITIDO!
