MENUU is a white-label online ordering platform based in Ireland. The product enables easy-to-use online ordering combined with a powerful promotions engine, advanced AI marketing automation, and integrations with leading POS and third-party delivery partners. It is built to integrate into restaurants’ existing systems, processes, and workflows.

Its key aspects are digital ordering, marketing, and deliveries across single or multiple locations. MENUU is available for mobile, web, and desktop devices. The platform enables restaurants to create highly sophisticated loyalty and reward programs while providing fast and reliable payments by integration with some of the major payment providers.

The customer challenge

The long-term goal of MENUU was to build a large-scale, world-class online ordering platform that guarantees excellent high availability and easy scale up from day one and is white-label in nature.

MENUU contacted us six years ago because of our extensive background in developing high-quality, end-to-end software solutions and our dedicated expertise in the hospitality sector.

The software solution presented below was originally created between 2018 and 2023 by the team of Bulbera. In 2023, the company became part of ITIDO and is currently developing the product together with MENUU under the Wiser Technology ( https://wisertech.com/ ) brand.

Our approach

We started by developing the MVP and building MENUU’s trust in our capabilities, and then things grew into a really fruitful long-term relationship. Keen on agile practices, we have kept Scrum as our main development process through the years. We work in short iterations to lower the risk as much as possible, considering the size, complexity, and longevity of the project.

Developing a comprehensive solution for MENUU meant building a strong, dedicated team with all capabilities needed to cover all aspects of a full-cycle product development – from UI / UX design, through business analysis, software architecture and PM to development and QA. On average five to six of our colleagues are dedicated constantly to MENUU’s technical and business needs.

A key factor in supporting this long-term partnership is not only the high-quality development skills provided by our team but also the deep understanding of the product and the domain. Our business analyst and solution architect help the MENUU stakeholders so the platform gets built in the most effective way for their business.

Results achieved

Created from scratch, the world-class online ordering platform is still continuously developed. Today, over 300 restaurants in the UK, Ireland, the US, and Canada use the MENUU platform. Over 750 000 end users globally order their meals in it. On average, the solution processes 50 000 orders a month; so far the total orders exceed four million.

Some of the platform’s highlights are:

  • Great ordering experience; enterprise-ready;
  • Cloud-based highly-available infrastructure;
  • Integrations with major POS platforms: Andromeda, Lightspeed, Par Pixelpoint, Clover, Deliverect etc.;
  • Integrations with leading delivery providers: Deliveroo, Stuart, Door Dash, Postmates, etc.;
  • Payment gateway integrations: Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.;
  • Powerful promotions and loyalty engine;
  • Extensive analytics and reports;
  • Powerful AI marketing automation.

They’re efficient and talented, and they excel at completing complex tasks.

Ross Cronin, CEO of MENUU

In an official review on Clutch, the B2B ratings platform, Ross Cronin, CEO of MEUU, shares: “Bulbera’s ability to understand complex tasks and deliver them distinguishes them from other providers. If something is difficult, they tell us and don’t just say yes; they offer a lot of transparency and honesty. For example, if I want something built in three months, and the timeline is unrealistic, they tell me.

Our product is a huge platform with a lot of different parts, and some of them are very complex. However, they’ve been able to manage the complex parts extremely well, and they have a very talented development team.”
