Recognizing the human touch in software development is crucial as it shifts our perspective from seeing code as just a set of instructions to viewing it as a manifestation of human thought and effort. Making the growth and fulfillment of the people the catalyst for success.

“Take care of your employees and they’ll take care of your business.” – Richard Branson, the famous entrepreneur and adventurer.

This core belief has always been part of ITIDO and we have put tremendous efforts towards that.

When we talk about growth in a software development context, it’s not just about upskilling or mastering a new programming language. It’s also about personal growth: developing critical thinking, fostering creativity, enhancing problem-solving capabilities, and building interpersonal skills. By focusing on the human element, we ensure that our developers grow holistically, leading to both personal fulfillment and professional excellence.

This way of doing business has recently culminated in our proud achievement: winning the Career Show “Best Employer” award in the “Innovations in Employee Training” category. This prestigious recognition reflects our dedication to nurturing an environment that empowers our professionals. As well as our pioneering vision for the future of technology.

Following the clear need to use AI in our work, we have created the “Integrating AI In Software Development” strategy with which we won the award.

It includes specific goals, what potential pushbacks we’re expecting from employees, what steps we can take to prevent and address them. Engineers and managers came up with an action plan to evaluate the current level of knowledge about AI tools and what would be the areas for development.

THE PROGRAMS THAT POWER OUR GROWTH:

To further boost our people’s potential, we have created several other initiatives – both internal and external.

Starting with our pride and joy – Next Level Play. It’s a series of informal presentations led by our colleagues, covering different topics of interest – from AI to the latest trends in front-end development to best practices in QA testing to CI/CD.  The in-person sessions aim to develop our technical and presentational skills.

Interview Skills Training is an HR training at ITIDO created to support our colleagues through client interviews. This program equips our colleagues with the necessary skills to conduct effective and fair interviews, helping them to show their skills and knowledge.

Another brand-new initiative is the Internal Java Academy. It’s an intensive training program that provides our developers with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Java, enabling them to tackle complex projects with confidence. And to make it even more interesting to our colleagues we decided to gamify it by adding unique characters which represent the “players”, leveling them up and moving them through the game board by passing exams.

And to top it off we know how important great leadership is to any successful organization. Therefore, our Leadership Igniter Program is designed to nurture leadership skills among our software development managers and people leads. This initiative provides them with the tools, knowledge, and insights necessary to motivate, guide, and mentor their teams effectively through coaching techniques. By investing in leadership development, we ensure that our organization remains agile, adaptive, and poised for long-term success.

We also believe that there is a lot more to learn outside of our organization, so we’re continuously providing training materials and courses through external platforms to our colleagues.

PEOPLE LEAD THE WAY:

The Innovations in Employee Training category award is a testament to our firm commitment to fostering a culture of learning and development. These programs—Interview Skills Training, Java Academy, Python Academy, and Leadership Igniter—are just a few examples of how we invest in our team members’ growth and potential.

Our People Leads and Software Development Managers have been the torchbearers in this journey of learning and development. And their commitment, vision, and adaptability have been instrumental in rolling out these initiatives effectively. Their belief in the potential of our people, combined with their relentless pursuit of excellence, has made this award and our success possible.
